Dear Nigeria( min of Education/UNIPORT) please stop increasing the PRICE of our DREAMS!

Okay, like we said earlier, this posts aren't meant to be disrespectful...we are just being correspondents, reporting it as it happened and its still happening
..picture us gisting about it..that's what these posts is about and a platform to vent your anger..

The first joint congress between management and students was fixed for 3pm on Wednesday 9th of July (hope we have that date correct) and we all came to college hall and waited till 5.30p.m  and no one showed up or addressed us and so in  hunger+ tiredness+ anger, we left and a new congress was scheduled for another day.

On the Scheduled day, we assembled with anticipation and a copy of the outrageously outrageous fees with very funny additions to address them one after the other.

The meeting started with a charge on how we spend large sums of money on hair and phones and yet we are having problems accepting the fees and then opening prayer was said  ( u notice the sequence abi?) And negotiations started.

We argued on the 15,000 NGN for practical fees stating final year and 500level students don't do praticals and that was removed.
We argued on the clinical materials and asked to know what the clinical materials were and they were listed..clerking paper ( I don't know how many people that use the sheets to clerk that na if you even see am eye), Gloves as the school is supposed to provide that for use, stethoscope ( yes, we shall have a uniform stethoscope probably with our logo and name  inscribed on it that can be the only explanation) pentorch (huh..), patella hammer..etc..kpom.. And we argued that we all have that and can bring it to school if need be and then we were asked if we have ultrasound scan too. ( Yes, there was sarcasm, let's enjoy) and that was said to be removed.
The pre-induction fee ( I still don't even understand what that means till today)  was also deliberated on and we asked to be cleared on it because 40,000 is paid for induction..what exactly are the pre-induction fees?( Please if you understood the explanation feel free to explain at the comment section because we  speak for many when we say we don't understand)

The community service fees were deliberated and we asked it to be be 5000NGN per person and it was removed for deliberation in the department.

The MB fees!!wipes sweat..the elephant of the grassland..an mb fee that was formerly 10,000 skyrocketed to 30,000!!Now at 10,000 UNIPORT is the school paying the highest MB fees and we made that clear and now 30,000 and we were made to understand that school wasn't subsidizing again and the fee would cater for the materials and the external examiners' logistics and that the corect method stipulated by Nigerian University Council (NUC) for exams says lecturers in proximal schools shouldn't be used as external examiners and so their transportation would be higher.
We sited University of Ibadan as an example and we were told that UI can afford to conduct MB free as they can just bring people from IFE and nearby schools ( you don't need a third eye to notice the contradiction right..what happened to the proximity clause). Now on the same fees, there's 1,000 NGN for examination materials..what exactly does the MB fee cater for if we are still going to pay 1,000 NGN for examination materials?

We were urged to shift grounds and we agreed to shift ground to about 12,000 NGN and it was refused.
The meeting ended up not satisfying any student because the fees are still very high and then we went over to negotiate with the school authorities.

Okay, like we said earlier, this posts aren't meant to be disrespectful...we are just being correspondents, reporting it as it happened and its still happening
... to be continued, lend your voices, speak up for your right!
